Reaching the Lucena Position will now be considered a win and the end of analysis much as we would for winning a Queen or heavy material. When the Philidor fails the defense, often the offense gains a Lucena position to win. Most King, Rook & Pawn vs King & Rook eventually disolve into either the Philidor or Lucena position.
